I'm done with the most card-core experience of my life, P90X!
It's weird thinking that I could learn so much from simply doing P90X. I've learned to push through when the going is tough. I've learned how to control my thoughts and focus on the moment. P90X has caused me to realize that I am capable of so much more than I have give myself credit for. One year ago, I would have never dreamed I could do 97 consecutive days of P90X, for more than two hours a day. It really is incredible.
My balance is considerably better, I'm more flexible, faster, stronger, more confident, mentally tough, and just an overall better athlete. Not to mention, I look better than I ever have in my life. P90X is for real!
I would say that controlling my mind, thoughts, was the most difficult aspect of my P90X experience. The human body is capable of so much more than our minds tell us. So, in the middle of a workout, when I'm near the breaking point, the state of mind I am in determines whether I am going to push through or not. Every time I completed a workout, I wrested control of one more portion of my mind. Now that I'm finished, I feel like I have total control.
I'll admit, when I first started, I wasn't very mentally tough and occasionally stopped before I should have, because my mind told me I couldn't do anymore. Over the past 97 days, I have conquered my mind. I believe I will be able to apply what I have learned while doing P90X to every aspect of my life.
That's the end of this project. I'm not sure what my next challenge will be. If you have any ideas, feel free to comment. By the way, If any of you have ideas on how i can make this blog more interesting, feel free to comment bluntly. Should I write more often?Anyway, thanks for following! Until next time, bye :)

Day 75
On Sunday night, I didn't fall asleep until 4 am. I'm assuming I couldn't sleep because I had a coke and a sprite that night. Usually, the caffeine wouldn't effect me, but I haven't had any in a very long time. Needless to say, I slept in Monday morning. I decided to be smart and skip Cardio X and only do Chest and Back. I figured doing too many workouts on such little sleep would be counter-productive. It was the last time I'll do Chest and Back, cause I only have Two weeks Of resistance training left.
On a positive note, I did as many push-ups as the people on the actual P90X DVD! Words cannot express the sense of accomplishment I feel right now! Those Psychos on the DVD have already finished the program and are grown men. On Day 1, by the end of the workout, I did 157 push-ups. On day 75, by the end of the workout, I did over 320 push-ups. WHATTT! I'm serious.
My goal has always bee to do as many push-ups as them. I finally can. It's cool :)
Well, That's it for today. I am gonna go do Plyometrics, Yeah...........

Day 68 Am Cardio X, Pm Plyometrics ( need I say more)
I did almost two hours of Cardio today. Tony Horton had me jumping up and down, running, squatting, going forward, backward, just crazy calorie burning and heart pumping work!
I don't know if you all remember, but when I first started, I could barely survive Plyometrics. Now, I'm doing Cardio and Plyo on the same day and feeling great. Don't get me wrong, I'm burning calories, sweating like hell (as Tony would say) and getting absolutely worn out, while having a good time. That's the beauty of P90X. It's a beautiful workout program with variety, fun moves, and a really funny instructor.
I don't think I'll ever understand why everyone isn't doing it. It's real, fun, and challenging. The instructor is funny and there is variety. You never get bored and your body doesn't plateau because it got used to the moves. P90X is for everyone, of every fitness level. It's awesome! Well that's my sermon for the day. Talk to you all when I feel like, bye. :)

Day 67: am Cardio X;
pm Chest, Shoulders, and Arms
Twenty three days left! It's 8:20 pm and I am so tired. Cardio X in the morning and Chest, Shoulders, and Arms in the afternoon. I did every move until failure. It was really fun and really difficult.
Man, over the last two months, I've learned a lot about myself. P90X has really forced me to dig down deep and find out what I am maid of. Honestly, I've really impressed myself. Two years ago, I wouldn't have even attempted P90X. Now I'm almost done and I am getting really good results!
That sickness Turned into That awesomeness
I am going to keep bringing it until the end!

Day 56 Core Synergistics
OK, Core is by far my favorite workout! There are two reasons why: first, it is really intense! I love intensity; intensity makes me happy.Tony Horton had me sweating like a wild man after the first three moves. That is insane. Secondly, the moves are just fun. Your doing chest, legs, abs and butt; it's everything in one beautiful, intense, fun workout. On top of all that, you're so focused on the workout that it's over before you know it. Today, I did every move until failure. Talk about total, beautiful, exhaustion! It was fun.
I'm over half way done with my 90 day challenge. I think I am getting good results; however, I'm scared that I won't look as good as I'd like by the end. I'm gonna have to up the intensity level A LOT! We'll see if I get the results I hope and of......

Day 49: Legs and Back
Besides Monday, this is the best week I have ever had. I’ve
shattered all of my records! I’m doing more reps, with more weight, going
deeper in my lunges, holding positions longer and working sooo much harder! I
did over 100 pull-ups today. I barely did more than 40 on my first day.
Improving feels really good.
I haven’t mentioned this before, but there is a monthly
Beachbody competition. So here are the rules: You complete a Beachbody workout
program (like P90X or Brazilian Butt Lift ect…) then you send your
transformation story, as well as your photos, to Beachbody.com. They choose a
winner based on your story and results. I am going to be the only sixteen
year-old to ever complete P90X. In fact, they don’t even have an age group lower
than 18. Hopefully I will change that.
The winner can win up to ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND dollars!!!!
Needless to say, the prospect of winning all of that money is motivating, to
say the least!
I’m more than half way done with my 90 day challenge. My goals
Extend further than getting a hot body. I am passionate about becoming an
Athletic Trainer and am willing to go through as much college and physical
training as necessary. As everyone knows, in order to be an Athletic Trainer, I
have to become an athlete. When I complete my P90X challenge, I am going to
continue getting in better and better shape. I am going to continuously keep
improving!
See you all next time J

Today was the most difficult day yet! I am so tired! Because
I played so much soccer over the weekend, I woke up exhausted. I failed to even
start my Cardio workout this morning, but that’s fine because I burned lots of
calories over the weekend. Somehow, I not only finished my major workout, but did a really good job. Unfortunately, I did not have the will power or energy
to get past the first Abb Ripper move. I’m unhappy I wasn’t able to do all of my workouts.
However, when I think about it, doing
those workouts would have been counter-productive. Sometimes you have really
tough days and can’t do too much. I did Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps well. I
didn’t do Cardio or Abbs; it is what it is. I’ll do better next time, as Tony
Horton would say: “I did my best and forgot the rest.”
OK, about my father. I’m still helping him do the Ten Minute
Trainer. He is progressing incredibly well. Every time I’d hug him goodnight,
I’d always feel his sizable belly. After nearly eight weeks, ten minutes a day,
it’s barely there! Whaaatttt! It’s really cool.
He is so funny. We do the same workouts every week, yet he
somehow manages how to forget the basic techniques. I have to re-teach him
every time. It’s actually pretty funny J

Day 42
Hey everyone :) Sorry I haven’t posted anything in so long. I guess
I just got caught up in life. I’m still doing hard core P90X with Tony Horton
and crew, but I’d be lying if I said I’m loving every second of it. It’s not
all butterflies and pancakes anymore. In fact, there are many moments when all
I want to do is spew obscenities at him! But he always manages to say something
that makes me smile. It’s a love hate. I can’t wait until I meet him.
I’m still working harder each time I do a workout; it’s just
much more difficult. All that P90X wears on you. On top of my 2 plus hours of
P90X each day, I’m playing soccer at the park with some people three times a
week. Needless to say, I’m pretty dang tired. But as Tony says, “it’s a
beautiful thing.” Hahaha….. he is so funny.
I plan on updating you all on my dad's progress. He is on day 50 and looking awesome!!!

Day 32( first month is over!)
Wow! My first month is over. I haven't worked harder in my life. Talk about putting yourself through hell; my first month was rough. for some sick reason ( probably because I'm destined to become a professional athlete) I loved my time in hell with Tony Horton and am looking forward to the next 60 days!
OK, so I'm gonna make a list of my sins for this month, then I'm gonna show you my new schedule. For my new schedule, I'll be working for more than 2 HR a day.

Day 22 (rest week/or not!)
Today is my first day of rest week, YEAH!? A rest week for
p90x is this:
Mon: Yoga (1 ½ hr of extreme discomfort)
Tues:Core Synergistics( insane abb/core workout)
Wed: Kempo (kicking, punching and sweating)
Thurs: X Stretch
Fri: Core Synergistics
Sat: Yoga (AGAIN, NOOOOO!!!)
Sun: Rest or stretch( Rest!!)
What a rest week. Need I say more…..?
When I am in a foul mood, brooding over what Tony has I store
for me, I'll go to the bathroom, stand in front of the mirror and chew myself out.
Strangely enough, it works. I tell myself that I am a low life who will never get
anywhere in life because I am not willing to work. I get myself feeling like an
idiot and say that I will lose all self-respect if I quite. As weird as it may
sound, It works. My despicable pride motivates me to persevere, whatever works.
:)
I’m about to do Yoga. I am in a good mood, so I shouldn’t
have to psyche myself out.

Day 13
According to the P90X fitness guide I am supposed to do
Kempo today. I did some Kempo last summer before my soccer injury. It’s kicking
and punching ect…Yes, it is a good workout, but the whole point of it is to
burn calories. Because I am a soccer player and I enjoy biking, I chose to run
two miles and bike five miles. I think I’m gonna do that from now on, rather
than doing Kempo. I’ll save Kempo for rainy daysJ
I encourage all of you to make the same commitment as my father and I. Do it for your health, character, self-respect, and clarity of mind. If you complete a workout program from Beachbody.com, everything I said will happen to you. Don’t wait. Dedicate a small portion of your life to wellness!

Day 12:
Because I am my own personal trainer, I give myself reprimands and praise. It’s kinda weird. Sometimes I even chew myself out if I start getting lazy.I know, it's weird. But everyone is different. As for me, I am my own worst critic. I choose to think of that as a strength. I get disgusted with myself very easily.
Enough about me, my Dad is doing incredibly well. He is on day 16. He lost 7 pounds in the first ten days, and is looking really good.
I’ve been well since Monday. Because I missed
so many workouts, I started at day 8, rather day 11.
This week has been good and bad. It was good because I did
every workout (besides legs and back) without taking any breaks.
I’m glad nobody saw me doing legs and back today. I looked
like I was trying to workout after I just had a baby. It was rough! Since I really
brought it this week, my workouts were more intense than usual. That is saying a
lot. Needless to say, I am very proud of myself. Because I am my own personal trainer, I give myself reprimands and praise. It’s kinda weird. Sometimes I even chew myself out if I start getting lazy.I know, it's weird. But everyone is different. As for me, I am my own worst critic. I choose to think of that as a strength. Enough about me, my Dad is doing incredibly well. He is on day 16. He lost 7 pounds in the first ten days, and is looking really good.
But he keeps complaining about how his workouts are not
getting easier. I keep telling him that every time he does a workout, I make
sure his form is better than the last time. Therefore, the workout is much more
difficult. He understood.
It’s really cool being able to help him get in shape. Our
relationship is better than it has ever been. Right now he is on a business trip. I'm making him bring his workouts with him. We shall see if he does it; I think he will. That is all for today.Wednesday, January 18, 2012
Hey everyone,
I'm still recovering from sickness! ugh! I hate it.
My dad is moving along quite well. He is finishing second week. It was hilarious. We were going into my room to do is Day six workout and he was in a really foul mood. He stomped into the room, anger written on his face. He looked at me and said:
" I am tired of hearing Tony Horton's voice. I'm sick of seeing him every day. He tells people like me, who have no muscle, to do stuff that takes muscle. the stink'in woman on his workout video has more muscle in one abb than I have in my entire body! When I have muscle we can talk"
Fortunately I did my job and convinced him to finish his workout. It was hilarious.
See you all next time.

Day 10, Wednesday:
Today was Arms, Shoulders and Abb Ripper. I woke up feeling
like garbage. I had no energy. I stumbled into the kitchen and ate a big plate
of gluten free spaghetti. After that I felt fine. Thinking the reason for my
lack of energy was caused by hunger, I prepared for my workout.
I know what you are thinking. How can someone get a good workout in just ten minutes? The all powerful Tony Horton is a fitness Genius. He created the Ten Minute trainer for people, like my dad, who do not have time to workout. One cardio workout burns more calories than a 30 minute jog. This program is legit.
So yesterday was my dad’s first time doing the ten minute trainer. After his workout he was completely exhausted. He did really well. He said it is more difficult than a two mile jog/walk. I’m really excited to get my dad fit while I’m going the same thing for myself.
When I finished with my dad, I did my workout.
Let me tell you, Tony really worked me. Throughout the workout I felt great. I finished strong with minimum breaks and felt really pleased with myself. I collapsed on my coach to enjoy a nice game of soccer. When out of nowhere, I was hit with body aches, congestion, and a sore throat. I guess my body has been fighting the sickness for a couple of days. That explains why I was feeling bad this morning. I’m hoping I won’t be out for too long. This is so not cool! I’ll see you all when I am well. Thanks for readingJ

Tuesday, Day 9: For some reason, I was actually looking
forward to Plyometrics. It don’t know what I was thinking, cause from the
moment I started, to the moment I finished,
I felt like I was experiencing hell on earth.
From
start to finish, Tony has you squatting, jumping, hopping, and sweating. In laymen’s
term Plyometrics equals PAIN, AGONY and DISTRESS.
The beauty of it all is
that when I complete the workout, I feel as if I have conquered the world. That
feeling of success is all I need to continue. Well, that and the great results
it yields. It’s time for me to hit the sack. I’m pooped. See you all tomorrow.
Introduction
My name is Cale Denson. I’d like to tell you a few
things about myself and the inspiration behind this Blog.
For the better part of my life I have wanted to be
a healthy person, inside and out. I don't believe there is a teenage boy out
there who does not aspire to be sculpted and chiseled. However, for me, fitness
is about more than the surface. Yeah, looking good is great. Who isn’t more
confident when they are in shape? However, I believe fitness is a life
decision.
I will be in my prime at forty.
In pursuit of this goal, I am going to complete
Tony Horton’s P90x fitness program. Last summer, I completed the first two
months of his rigorous program, but unfortunately I broke my shin in a soccer
game. Four months have drifted away. I am the opposite of sculpted. I feel like
a ball of blubber.
Things are going to change.
Mr., Horton designed his program to transform your
body is 90 days. I began five days ago, January 1, 2012. In three months I will
be fit and healthy.
My ambition stretches further than having a nice body. Hopefully this blog will be a stepping stone, leading to my ultimate goal of becoming a Athletic Trainer.
The P90X fitness program is a full body workout. Here is the schedule I will be following for the first three weeks. Each workout is just over an hour.
Monday: Chest and Back
Tuesday: Plyometrics
Wednesday: Shoulders and Arms
Thursday: Yoga X
Friday: Legs and Back
Saturday: (I’ve modified this workout) Sprint
Training
Sunday: X Stretch
Day 1-7 Wow, I never knew I was so out of shape! The first week was like getting hit by a truck, recovering over night, and then doing the same thing all over again. I literally felt pain in every part of my body, including my butt!
In spite of all that, it was an awesome week. The beauty of doing Tony Horton’s program is that he makes it fun. I laugh my head off while I put my body through hell. How cool is that?
Day 8, Monday: Today is Chest, Back and Abb Ripper X. I was feeling sick last night, so I had to stop about ¾ of the way through chest and back... I hate stopping in the middle of workouts!
After that I did Abb Ripper. Ok guys, Tony makes you do 349 intense Abb moves! But, finishing my Abb workout felt really good. I’m sure am ready to be done for the day. I’ve found that when I turn off my mind and focus on the form, finishing the workout is a lot easier.
At the End of Chest and Back I have done over 140 push ups and 40 pull-ups. It is a rigorous workout. I am definitely ready for bed!Well, I not going to bed, I'm gonna watch Alias. See you all tomorrow.
These are day 1 photos:
Scientists have proven that exercise and a healthy
diet will wipe out seventy percent of ailments people have to live with.
Moreover, a man is supposed to reach the prime of his life at forty years old.
Rather than feeling great, many forty year old men in today’s age cannot even
run. I believe this is a result of a bad diet and lack of exercise. Therefore,
at the young age of sixteen, I am dedicating my life to wellness.
Things are going to change.
My ambition stretches further than having a nice body. Hopefully this blog will be a stepping stone, leading to my ultimate goal of becoming a Athletic Trainer.
